The chair was established in 1972 on the basis of Dilijan Production Association “Impulse” of the Ministry of Communication of the USSR.

The chair trains students for the Bachelor Degree of Engineering by specialty “Design and Technology of Radioelectronic Facilities”.

The graduates of the chair can apply their scientific knowledge in the sphere of the production of radioelectronic equipment.

• The development of the new types of small-size semiconductor photospectrometers for the registration of the radiation of the visible, UV and IR spectral regions.
• The development of semiconductor radiation-resistant photodetectors with the injective current amplification.
• The development of photodetectors with spectrophotometric properties for the conversion of the electromagnetic radiation of the roentgen and optical ranges. The research supervisor - Dr. Sci., Prof. S. Kh. Khudaverdyan.
• The design and the simulation of communication facilities and radioelectronic equipment.
• The development of the design systems of communication facilities and radioelectronic equipment.
