The Department

of Armenian
The
Chair conducts courses on Armenian for the students involved in the
Junior Engineer, Bachelor of Engineering Degree Programs as well as
foreign students at the SEUA division of FS.
The theoretical and practical course in Armenian is aimed at:
• favouring the humanization of the engineering education;
• expanding and deepening of knowledge and the outlook of the students
on Armenian literature and culture and the development of their contemporary
directions;
• developing of skills in editing, business correspondence, technical
writing.
• developing certain communicative skills of foreign students of SEUA.

Chair
of Russian
The
Chair conducts courses in the Bachelor and Junior Engineer programs
as well as at the preparatory department of the SEUA Divisions of
Foreign Students and Humanities. The students are trained in the spheres
of science, engineering and technical writing. The training at this
Chair has a communication-oriented and professionally-directed nature
determined by communication and cognition requirements of the engineering
personnel.
The goal of the training is to give the students an opportunity to
acquire communicative competency so as to use Russian both in professional
(production and business) and scientific activities.

Chair
of Foreign Languages
The
Chair carries out training of the students at all levels of University
Education. It conducts courses: in the Junior Engineer, Bachelor,
Graduate, Post-graduate programs as well as at the SEUA Divisions
of Humanities and Economics and Management.
The Chair carries out training courses on English for the Faculty
of the specialized Chairs of the University at the Faculty Development
Center of SEUA using both classical and up-to-date computer-aided
methods of teaching.
The courses conducted at the Chair give the students an opportunity
to acquire knowledge of English, French and German. They also acquire
certain linguistic skills of reading, writing, speaking and communicating,
translating, written and oral reproduction, technical writing and
business correspondence. The mentioned skills help the students to
use the foreign language both in professional and scientific activities.
The Faculty of the Chair conduct English courses at the Faculty Development
Center of SEUA for the teachers specialized in different spheres,
in particular for those who are to teach at the Division of Foreign
Students of SEUA. The courses are carried out at three levels: pre-intermediate,
lower-intermediate and upper-intermediate. The first course is based
on classical method while the second and the third ones are computer-aided
courses combined with classical methods of instruction (to develop
the skills of communication). The selection of the Faculty is carried
out by a test given by the Instructors of the Chair of Foreign Languages.
The Faculty who complete the above mentioned courses are awarded Certificates
which is a sort of permission to conduct lectures at FSD of SEUA.
